HERBY'S ANGEL ROUGHOUT

Herby's Angel was designed by Herby Ham of Uvalde, Texas. Herby started me carving about 8 years ago. The first angels were carved from band sawn blanks. They required a lot of carving, but they were fun as well as challenging. The roughout is a much easier carve and has enough landmarks to indicate all of the main cuts. The roughouts are made from northern Wisconsin basswood and butternut. The finished carving is about 5 1/4 inches tall. They may be finished with just clear acrylic spray, or with oil.
