People often ask me what tools I use to carve the under side of the Angel's wings. I decided to show a couple of pictures of the tools I use. However, I only know the brand of one tool.![]() ![]() This is a Phiel - Swiss made spoon bent gouge. They work good, but have a bit more bend than is necessary. They can be purchased at several woodcarving supply houses. |
![]() ![]() This is a great spoon bent gouge, however I don't know the brand. Most vendors at the various carving seminars carry these tools. I got this one from The Old Texas Woodcarver's Tool Shop.![]() ![]() These are tools I use a lot. They are a cheap set that can be found in the woodcarving catalogs and at tool houses such as Harbor Freight. Only about 3/4 to 1 inch of the tip of these tools are heat treated. After the hard section they bend easily. These make good tools for carving under the wing. They can be ground to any width.Angel --- Hand & Cross --- Donkey --- Mobius Strip --- Barn Owl --- Salt & Pepper shaker --- Big angel --- Cross |
