BUZZARD ROUGHOUT

This old buzzard has been around for a long time. I first carved one over ten years ago. It is a fun carving. Having the head separate makes for a better roughout. Also, allows the head to be set in different positions. Also, you can change the shape of the head and the beak. I usually carve the neck to slightly over 1/4" and fit it into a 1/4" hole drilled in the body. The base is large enough that the buzzard can be shown sitting on a tombstone, a fence rail or maybe a limb. The finished carving is 7 inches tall to the top of his head, and the base is 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches. The roughout comes with the colored go-by sheet shown above
